We Scare Hunger - Update and Thank You

posted Nov 11, 2019, 7:39 AM by St. Benedict School

Between October 21st to Nov 1st, the Grade 6 students motivated our very caring St. Benedict school community to successfully raise more than 1800 non-perishable food items for the Barrhaven Food Cupboard. The success of the program can be contributed to the tremendous amount of commitment and leadership by all students throughout the We Scare Hunger campaign.

The Barrhaven Food Cupboard and the St. Benedict family thanks everyone who contributed in helping out families in our local area. We were not only successful in surpassing our goal of 1500 items, but we were also able to demonstrate a spirit of generosity while celebrating the Gospel Value of Community.

St. Benedict will begin our annual We Scare Hunger food drive on Monday October 21st. The food drive is a local campaign in which the Grade 6 students live the Gospel Value of Community by leading the school in an initiative to collect non-perishable food items for the Barrhaven Food Cupboard. Please contribute to the campaign by purchasing non-perishable food items. You can send them to school and they will be collected by your child's homeroom teacher. Please feel free to also drop off food items outside the office and we will make sure they are collected by the Grade 6 students. Thank you in advance for supporting this local action initiative!

October 21st Polling Station

posted Oct 20, 2019, 8:26 AM by St. Benedict School

St. Benedict will be a polling station for the Federal Election on October 21st. Members of the community will be in and out of our school throughout the day in order to cast their ballots. A security guard will be present at the front door during the school day. Drop-off and pick-up are very busy times at St. Benedict, so please keep in mind that we will have extra traffic Monday morning and afternoon due to the election. The safety of our students is our top concern. Thank you for your support and cooperation.
